One in six menwill be diagnosed with prostate cancer in their lifetime, and nearly 30,000 men will die from the disease in 2009.

Because of these staggering statistics, the PACE Race Run / Walk Series was launched in 2002 as a method for the Prostate Conditions Education Council (PCEC) to increase national awareness of prostate cancer and men’s health issues.

The mission of the PACE Race Series is to increase awareness and early detection of prostate cancer and to educate men and their families on treatment options and other men's health issues.

The PACE Race Series complements the PCEC's missions of offering free or low cost prostate cancer screenings across the nation as well as educating men, the women in their lives, and the medical community, about the prevalence of prostate cancer; the importance of early detection; and available treatment options.
